The Role

As a Junior DevOps Engineer you’ll help to build, maintain and improve our Human Experience Management cloud platforms and work closely with our internal teams to continuously improve our software delivery pipeline.
The role offers great scope for career progression. You will be continually learning and supported to reach your full potential as a Junior DevOps Engineer within a highly collaborative and supportive environment. To assist with your personal development, we provide access to Linux Academy and actively encourage you to achieve certifications should you wish to do so.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has good communication skills with the aptitude and desire to learn with an automation first mentality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, monitor, secure and improve our Human Experience Management cloud platforms
  • Respond to incidents
  • Perform security patching of our operating systems and core infrastructure services
  • Work with internal teams to continuously improve our software delivery process
  • Maintaining our DevOps tooling
  • Perform R&D into new DevOps tooling on the market
  • Perform general system administration tasks on remote and local dedicated servers

Skills Profile

The list below shows the tech stack we are using. As this is a junior position, we understand that you may not be familiar with some of them however practical experience in some of the technologies would be advantageous.

Essential skills we are looking for include:

  • Linux system administration (Amazon Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian)
  • Scripting languages (Python, Bash)
  • TCP/IP Networking

  • Cloud Services (AWS, Digital Ocean)

  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher)
  • CI/CD (Gitlab CI/Jenkins)
  • Monitoring and Logging (Zabbix, Prometheus, ELK stack, Grafana)
  • Databases (Amazon RDS, Riak CouchDB)
  • Web Services (Nginx, HaProxy)

Other Key Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
